The Anaheim Police Activities League Jr. Cadet program offers educational and physical activities for youth ages 8 through 13 while emphasizing respect, responsibility, and self-discipline. The Jr. Cadet program offers the following classroom topics: legal awareness, drug & gang awareness, leadership & team building activities, and homework assistance. The program includes physical fitness and military drills to improve self confidence, eating habits, health, self-esteem, leadership, and respect.
Objectives

Instill in youth respect and understanding for law enforcement personnel and the laws they uphold.

Assist youth in developing positive self-esteem by providing them with skills to help them stay in school.

Provide an opportunity for police, parents, schools, and community members to make a personal commitment to serve Anaheim’s youth.
Beginners Class
- Three month sessions
- Referral from Anaheim City School District, Magnolia School District, and Centralia School District.
- Must be an Anaheim Resident.
- Classes held at Betsey Ross, Danbrook, Maxwell, Hansen, Horace Mann and Palm Lane Elementary Schools.
- Cost: $30.00 (includes T-shirt with Jr. Cadet logo and insurance)
- Upon completion the cadet has the option of transferring to the advanced class
Advanced Class
- Open enrollment for elementary and junior high school students
- Cadet can remain in program until age 14
- Cadet may be dismissed from program with three or more absences
- Cost: $10.00 (includes T-shirt & Polo with Jr. Cadet logo, black belt and insurance)
